It’s the same old theme since 1916:
In your head, in your head they’re still fighting,
With their tanks, and their bombs,
And their bombs, and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...
In 1916 the Easter Rising saw seven members of the Military Council of the Irish Republican Brotherhood stage a protest, or ‘rising’ against British occupation of Northern Ireland. After six days of fighting the Rising was suppressed, but it marked a century of fighting for independence in the country that only ended when Mo Mowlam successfully orchestrated a ceasefire with the IRA and Sinn Féin in 1995.
