McCartney claimed it was his attempt at writing a song for legendary crooner Frank Sinatra:
I thought I was writing a song for Sinatra. There were records other than rock 'n' roll that were important to me.
This isn't the only song he attempted to write for Frank. He also composed an unrecorded song for Sinatra called Suicide, which he played in an appearance on BBC chat show Parkinson. Sinatra, he said, hated it and turned it down.
