Justin is the last, of great the romantic poets
He's the only one among us who is ever gonna make it
And we planned the revolution from a cheap Southampton bistro
I don't remember details, but there were English boys with Banjos
The Justin in this verse is a reference to Justin Young, then working under the pseudonym of Jay Jay Pistolet.
In 2008 when “I Knew Prufrock...” was first released, Justin had himself released two EPs: We Are Free and Happy Birthday You, both on Chess Club. Despite ruffling a few feathers on the blogosphere, Justin’s solo career failed to create the spark he clearly wanted, and he reappeared in 2010 as one third of The Vaccines. At first few made the connection between his former and current career, as his given name Justin Young was not well known. However more recently, arguably in an attempt to legitimise The Vaccines’ existence, Young has openly promoted his former incarnation.
In this verse Turner unfortunately prophesises The Vaccines’ existence.
