Facebook The Best Damn Thing is the third studio album by French-Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne, released on 13 April 2007 through RCA Records. Unlike Lavigne's previous studio albums; Let Go and Under My Skin, the studio album is a musical change for Lavigne, who use to incorporate more dark alternative rock music. Many of the musical composition's on the studio album have incorporated more punk rock inspired music, while many themes have become more upbeat unlike her previous efforts. The album was noted as her first effort to feature more producers for the studio album, including Rob Cavallo, Dr. Luke and Lavigne herself who was referenced as the executive producer.

Upon its release, The Best Damn Thing received generally positive reviews from music critics, many praising her transition from grungey pop-rock music to more pop-punk friendly music, with it being catchy and very radio-friendly. However, the main criticism of the album was the lyrical content, where some found it too rough or brutal. The album debuted atop of the charts including countries Austria, Canada, United States and many other countries. The album went on to sell over 6 million records worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling albums of 2007.
