I play around don't stay around
This old town too long
Seems like I got to
Travel on

The Clash - Armagideon Time lyrics meaning

“Armagideon Time” was originally performed by Willi Williams, a Jamaican musician and producer, in 1978. However The Clash made the song famous in 1979 as the much celebrated b-side to “London Calling”. “Armagideon Time” has also featured on the soundtrack to Grosse Point Blank.

The Clash very slightly changed the lyrics of the song by removing religious connotations. The consequent sense of dread and social unrest has been attributed to Mikey Dread, who recorded the song with The Clash.
