Madonna performs ‘Gangnam Style’ with PSY

It seems virtually unthinkable now but there was a time when Madonna used to be ahead of the curve. William Orbit, Mirwais, Stuart Price – they were all pretty much complete unknowns before she recruited them to produce her three best contemporary albums.

But recently, she seems to be belatedly jumping on every bandwagon possible. After inviting bushy-haired goofballs LMFAO to join her on stage during her Super Bowl half-time show, she’s now hooked up with another brainless novelty outfit, Korean entertainer PSY, to perform ‘Gangnam Style,’ at her gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Before mashing up her 2008 single, ‘Give It To Me,’ with the chart-topping dance craze, Madonna cruelly teased the crowd that they were about to see something special:

“Because you’ve been working so hard on smashing your egos I have a little surprise for you.

“A song I haven’t sung for a while. You’re gonna have to help me out with everything. I’m tired, I’ve been doing this for a year!”

You can almost sense the audience’s disappointment when instead of Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. or even Ricky Martin turning up to revisit one of their duets with the Queen of Pop, they’re faced with a paunchy middle-aged man in an orange suit.
