Despite holding a Twitter account for a number of years and amassing millions of followers, music megastar Beyoncé has never tweeted a thing… until last week when she finally broke her silence to announce the launch of her new image-led website Beyonce.com
Hey World, It’s B!I’m so excited to invite you to my new beyonce.com – we’ve been workinghard, and it’s finally ready for you XO
— Beyonce Knowles (@Beyonce) April 5, 2012
The single tweet saw her leap up the Billboard Social 50 chart from #49 to #17. The chart measures the online social influence of musicians on the web based on follows, views and plays across a variety of digital platforms, including Vevo, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
Her new website is based on the popular blogging platform Tumblr and is heavily laden with images, including artwork and lyrics from all four of her solo studio albums.
